1950’s Lithograph by C.C. Beal part of his Japanese Girl Series. This one is entitled Golden Dawn. It should not be confused with Chinese Girls by Vladimir Tretchikoff. Cecil Calvert Beall ( 1892-1970) an American illustrator and portrait artist during the 1930s and 40s. He did art for magazines and comic books and his works were regularly featured in the Saturday evening post. He produced a series of cover lustration depicting World War II heroes, he was also the art Director for the national democratic party during President Roosevelt‘s administration.
This C.C. Beall’s Golden Dawn is rare and harder to find than the Tretchikoff and this one does not disappoint. The frame has some flaws (shown in photos) the litho its self is near perfect. 32” x 26”
